Website On Fleek
Artist and Project Manager, Jennifer Chernecki, explains how her work experience with a design agency and development team led to the creation of her sweet website.
I am so lucky that I get to dabble in two worlds: I also work as a Project Manager for an Image Consulting and Design agency. The job came to me exactly when I needed it and the experience has created for me a whole new world of management skills and realtionships with collaborators and clientele. I have never been so proficient in communication or business etiquette. I spend my days working with industry professionals and I have access to the best resources and advise. The downside to all this is that I spend six or more hours every day working from a computer so the last thing I want to do is spend more time on my website and social media. (I manage or am an admin on more than 10 social media accounts and a myriad of websites!) Building this website was the act of me taking my career into my own hands. I knew that I wanted it simple, clean and all Jen. I needed flexibility. It would have to follow the top SEO standards, be easy to navigate and be fully responsive. I drafted the first version on a cross country plane ride with a lanky single serving friend observing from the aisle seat and my mother from the coveted window seat. That version was pretty horrible. Version 7 made the cut and I couldn’t be happier. Luckily, I had my friends at Studio TGP to help guide my design choices, my art consultant at Dazed and Confucius to help with the structure and my pals at SilverServers to code and keep my site in SEO heaven. This is the beginning of a new chapter in my life and I am so excited that I chose to invest in me in 2017.
