Mount Pleasant Heritage Group
I have been an enthusiastic volunteer with the Mount Pleasant Heritage Group since around 2015! Although I have moved from Vancouver, I still work with the group to help where I can, especially with project design. With the support of the group, I have created large poster projects for heritage week, window displays with our friends at Rath Art Supply, signage honoring local cherished buildings, colouring pages of favorite spots and developed marketing materials and our informative website!
In 2019, Danielle Peacock, Alyssa Myshok, Christine Hagemoen and I won a City of Vancouver Heritage Award of Merit for the work we had done in the beloved neighborhood. We were also greatly supported by historians Bruce MacDonald and Sean MacPherson, as well as artist Erin Pasternak who contributed our logo, an image of the 1889 James Black Manor, a stronghold and artist mecca in the neighborhood.
